Where can I find Loopy Lou?
Loopy Lou is a front row beach hut based in Eastcliff, Walton on the Naze.
Around a 10-15 min walk from the Pier, Eastcliff is a quieter spot in Walton on the Naze with direct access onto the beach from the promenade. Yep, literally two steps across the path and you are onto the beach!
In light of current covid restrictions – a maximum of 8 people, in and out of the hut, including babies and children.
Loopy Lou is perfect for couples, individuals seeking time out, or families with children.
While there are just a couple of steps into the beach hut from the promenade, the front row Eastcliff huts can only be accessed via steps from the street behind the huts. As such she may not be suitable for those with mobility issues.
Can I bring my dog?
While all of our beach huts are dog-friendly, Loopy Lou is on the border of a 0.5 mile stretch where restrictions are in place between 1st May and 30th September.
During that time, dogs are not allowed directly on a small stretch of beach to one side of her. This is clearly signposted.
While dogs are more than welcome, during peak seasons, a prior agreement is required for more than one average size dog. We do find we accommodate this subject to the overall party sizes – don’t be scared to ask before booking. I have two spaniels myself!
Do just consider their safety during the day – particularly during summer. We have dog bowls in each hut, so ensure they are regularly topped up and if they are very active, try to encourage them to seek shade and snooze!
As with all outdoor locations – do please remember to clean up after them! Walton has blue flag status and we’d love to keep it that way for us to all enjoy ;0)
Where are the nearest facilities to Loopy Lou?
Turn left out of the hut and after 100 yards are toilet facilities including baby changing.
Turn left out of the hut and there is a tap approximately 30 yards away.
Where can I Park?
There are a number of residential streets immediately behind the beach huts which lead onto the main road (Cliff Parade) above the promenade.
Parking is free in the area but will be very very busy during peak seasons. Do arrive early and if you do need to park on residential streets, be prepared to walk with your items to the beach huts. Perhaps bring that wagon trolley with you or drop a member of your party close by with your goodies!
The nearest car park (with charges) is next to the train station on Church Road – this is around a 15-20 min walk.
What will I find in Loopy Lou? Do I need to bring anything?
In normal circumstances – we’d normally provide everything you need for a day at the beach. However, in these bananas times, we continue to be very careful around our Covid Protocols to ensure everything is thoroughly cleaned per arrival.
Gas stove, crockery, cutlery and tea, coffee and sugar are all included for your use but if you feel uncomfortable using our crockery, then do pack your own.
Don’t forget the all-important – MILK, BIN BAGS (please take all rubbish home or deposit in bins on the promenade) and TEA TOWELS for washing up. Plus any beach bucket and spades and toys you’d like to
There are lots of shops on the way into Walton if you forget, and you’ll find a Tesco Express in the centre of Walton itself along with a Marks and Spencer and Lidl nearby too.
Eastcliff has a cafe close by – The Last Fishermans Cafe. They have been known to do fireshows on Friday nights so check out them out if booked!
What else do I need to know?
Along with our T&Cs, you’ll find all the generic beach hut hire questions over in our FAQs section HERE.
What happens next?
You’ll receive a confirmation email post-payment to confirm your booing but one week pre your booking, you’ll receive another email from us with a code to access the beach hut (key safe has codes regularly changed for security and contains keys to the hut).
We do not currently operate a meet and greet service to give you flexibility re your arrival time but you’ll find someone close by who may pop by to check that everything is how you expect.
