There I was feeling quite happy for myself for getting away from work at a decent time on a Friday – it was hot, the weather looked ok and I was home when Millie was dropped back off from daycare (doggy daycare that is!). Flip Flops on, one tennis ball, poo bags and ball thrower and we were all set for a sunny dog walk.
45 minutes later, I’m drenched to the bone and trying to run back home in those very flip-flops. Millie, however, thought it was great fun, hiding underneath trees and playing fetch in the long grass. Yet again she reminded me to enjoy the moment; to take a step back (or in the case hide under a tree) and just enjoy.
Sometimes you really do just need to take a minute and enjoy the moment you are in – even if it means getting a little wet!
In the first of my weekly blogs re Things to Do in Essex this weekend, I’ve incorporated some indoor and outdoor activities all suitable for a family day out. The weather forecast does look a little bit mixed – you may wish to have a few backup options to hand or you could just go hunting for the rainbows after the rain.
